DLPA extra has no side effects and is not habit-forming.
DLPA is an abbreviation for a substance called "dl-phenylalanine". Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid, meaning it cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained from the diet. DLPA combines two forms of phenylalanine: D-phenylalanine and L-phenylalanine. The two forms have different properties and effects in the body.
L-phenylalanine (L-form) is a precursor of the amino acid tyrosine, which converts into neurotransmitters in the body. L-form is important for increasing the production of dopamine (one of the hormones of happiness) and noradrenaline (a stress hormone that prepares our body and brain for a quick reaction, a hormone of mental alertness). Noradrenaline plays a role in regulating appetite and metabolism. Lower levels of noradrenaline increase hypersensitivity to fatigue, depression or pain.
The L-form of phenylalanine slows down the process of mental aging, improves mood, ability to learn and remember.
D-Phenylalanine (D-form) is the mirror image of the L-form. It has a structurally different orientation of atoms, which affects its biological properties. It affects chemicals in the brain that are related to the sensation of pain and can suppress depressive states.
The composition is enriched with vitamin C and B6, which contribute to the proper function of the nervous system, psyche and the proper function of the immune system.
DLPA EXTRA contains:
- DL – phenylalanine contributes to the production of neurotransmitters that affect good mood and mental alertness.
- Vitamin C contributes to maintaining the proper functioning of the immune system and other biochemical processes in our body
- Vitamin B6 contributes to normal mental activity, to reducing the level of stress, fatigue and exhaustion.
